You will not swim: set the pool premium to zero and compare the same room SKU, breakfast, and cancellation terms. Two guests will swim: add two guest tickets to the Room-only final total. A family of four will all swim: compare the full cost of “cheaper Room-only + four pool tickets” with a package that includes pool admission for four. August 16, 2026 is still in the peak 09:00–20:00 period; from August 17, hours return to 09:00–18:00, so pool value drops sharply for a family returning at 17:00.
01POOL TICKET MULTIPLIER: a cheaper room does not necessarily mean a cheaper family stay
Kensington Resort Seogwipo's official 2026 outdoor pool is not a standard “free unlimited access for hotel guests” entitlement. Current guest prices are KRW 19,900 per adult and KRW 17,900 per child; a child ticket covers ages 37 months through elementary school. For two adults and two children who all enter once, current guest tickets total KRW 75,600.
This number does not prove that a package is always cheaper. It shows that an OTA Room-only homepage rate and an official “pool for four included” package are different products. Comparing only the first room-price number omits all four tickets. Conversely, if nobody intends to swim, paying a package premium buys an entitlement you will not use.
02August 17 is a time cliff: the same pool loses two hours overnight
The official 2026 pool calendar currently has two periods. General operation from June 19 to September 27 is 09:00–18:00; peak season from July 17 to August 16 extends to 09:00–20:00. August 16, 2026 is therefore the last day of peak extended hours; on August 17 the pool returns to an 18:00 close.
This matters for families sightseeing during the day and returning to the resort in the evening. A 17:00 return on August 16 still leaves a meaningful evening window; from August 17, less than an hour remains. Even with identical room prices, the realized return on the pool premium is no longer the same product.
Do not stop at “the stay is in summer.” Place the exact date inside the June 19–September 27 operating calendar, then check whether it falls in the July 17–August 16 extended period. Finally, ask when you will actually return each day.
03Lock the room SKU: 85.95㎡ does not guarantee the same beds, cooking rights, or view
The current official Renovated Kensington Premier is about 85.95㎡ with one living room, two bedrooms, and one bathroom; standard occupancy is four, maximum six, with one double and two single beds. It is a Clean Room, and the official description explicitly says cooking is unavailable. Current Premier, Premier Plus, Kids, and other products still differ in standard occupancy, beds, and Cooking/Clean status.
In particular, official package pages for older Premier products still use on-site assignment language such as “one double, two singles, or ondol + ondol.” For four to six guests, “they are all 26 pyeong” is not enough to make them the same room contract. If a bed arrangement or children's room is mandatory, lock the exact SKU before comparing platforms.
| Variable before payment | Why it changes the final total | Do not compare this way |
|---|---|---|
| Premier / Premier Plus / Kensington Premier / Kids | Different standard/maximum occupancy, beds, and Clean/Cooking rights | Treat every “26 pyeong” product as identical |
| Ocean / Mountain / specified floor | View is another room-SKU layer | Use the lowest Mountain/ROH rate to represent Ocean |
| Pool Included | Room-only may require separate guest tickets | Assume “the hotel has a pool” means the room price includes it |
| Breakfast Included | A package may cover only two or four guests | Assume “breakfast included” covers a party of four to six |
| Cancellation | Package and OTA flexibility may differ | Let a non-refundable rate defeat a refundable one |

04Package coverage is what a family of four must really compare
Kensington's official 2026 packages clearly separate “room + breakfast for how many + pool for how many.” The current Summer Playground package includes pool access for four. Other multi-night or late-summer offers may provide pool access for only two and breakfast for two, or breakfast for four only under specified consecutive-night conditions. At the same hotel, on the same night, even with the same Premier label, inclusions can be completely different.
A family of four should not merely ask whether the official package costs more than an OTA. Compare the same dates, room type, and legal occupancy, then put the four pool tickets you will use, four breakfasts, and cancellation flexibility onto the same ledger. Unused inclusions do not become cash; required costs that are not included must be added back.
05Place the view premium after the pool and room type
The resort's official pool and garden already provide coastal visuals, while rooms include Ocean and Mountain products. The common mistake is being captured by “Ocean View” before the larger-party room SKU, pool inclusion, and breakfast have been aligned.
If a family of four leaves at 09:00 every day and returns after 18:00, time spent using the Ocean View room is already limited. If the family stays at the resort for half a day, the garden, pool, and coastal walk can rise in value together. A view premium is a function of usage time, not a price attached to the photograph itself.
06Three-platform comparison: fix five fields before opening Booking.com, Agoda, and Trip.com
This guide does not claim that any OTA is permanently cheapest. Before payment, fix dates, every adult/child age, exact room SKU/view, pool/breakfast inclusion, and cancellation. If you will swim, add one more field: “how many pool tickets are required?”
07Verdict: decide whether the pool will actually be used or merely looks good in photos
Good fit: families of four to six who will spend time at the resort, genuinely swim in summer, and calculate every package inclusion. Poorer fit: guests who leave early and return late every day, stay after September 27, or use the hotel only as a sleeping base. In these cases, the pool and package premium can easily become unused inventory.
Verdict: the key transaction at Kensington Resort Seogwipo is not whether it “has a pool.” It is the per-person pool-ticket multiplier × your stay date × when you genuinely return to the hotel. Calculate all three before choosing which equal-terms final total—official package, Booking.com, Agoda, or Trip.com—is reasonable.
