Short answer: do not ask which hotel has a pool; ask which water product you want to buy. The current official Basic Choice pairs Marriott with Mosil pool, while Shinhwa comes with Sky Pool plus Shinhwa Water Park. Marriott fits a short daily swim more smoothly; Shinhwa turns facilities into value only when you will reserve several hours for water play.
- Want to swim for 60–90 minutes after sightseeing: start with Marriott.
- The children will treat Water Park as a half-day activity: start with Shinhwa.
- Two adults and two children: use Marriott Premier Family Twin versus Shinhwa Deluxe Family Twin as the common denominator.
- Arriving after 18:30: deduct lost Water Park hours before discussing a Shinhwa premium.
- Not using water facilities: return Landing vs Shinhwa to the shortlist.
- Long stay with self-catering: Somerset Jeju Shinhwa World is a third product in the same complex and outside this comparison.
01Neutralize the room first: both have a 38 m² Queen plus Single family room
Marriott’s current Premier Family Twin is 38 m² with one queen and one single, allowing up to two adults plus two children under 12, or three adults plus one child under 12. Shinhwa Deluxe Family Twin has the same area, bedding, and occupancy boundary. That lets the comparison remove room-type contamination first.
02The real fork is the water product, not whether a pool exists
The current official pool notice lists Marriott Mosil Indoor at 09:00–21:00 and Outdoor at 10:00–19:00. Shinhwa Sky Pool runs 09:00–22:00 with a break from 11:00 to 13:00, while Water Park runs 10:00–20:00. Operations may still change due to on-site arrangements, so recheck on the stay date.
Mosil is closer to a restorative hotel swim. Shinhwa connects Water Park activities and Sky Pool into a complete water product. If a child swims for only 45 minutes, a larger number of facilities does not automatically produce more value.
03One late-arrival night: at 18:30, recovery of included value begins to diverge
Arriving at 15:00 makes it easiest to use both Shinhwa Water Park and Sky Pool fully. At 18:30, Water Park’s current baseline closes at 20:00; after check-in, changing, and walking, the first night’s value has clearly shrunk. Marriott’s indoor Mosil runs until 21:00 and better fits a brief swim around dinner. After a 21:00 arrival, neither should be valued as a complete water day. If your flight often lands toward evening, first use Jeju Airport to your hotel to estimate the landing-to-check-in buffer, then price the water entitlement.
04Two adults and two children: a family label is insufficient; ask how long the children will play
If the children can play for several consecutive hours, Shinhwa’s Water Park plus Sky Pool removes both transfer friction and the need to buy a separate activity. If they will swim for only an hour, Marriott Family Room plus Mosil usually fits the lodging rhythm better. Enter children’s real ages into both OTAs; do not rely on a search-page “room for four.” If Family Twin is still too small, start with one family room versus two rooms. If you have not decided whether to anchor the entire family trip at Shinhwa World, return to Shinhwa World or Jungmun for families and choose the base again.
05Big3, breakfast, and minibar: neutralize shared items first
If you do not intend to stay and only want to buy park activities, there is no need to convert Big3 through a room rate. Compare platforms directly with Jeju Shinhwa World Theme Park tickets.

07Final decision: recovery swim leans Marriott; water day leans Shinhwa
Marriott fits: water is recovery time after each day’s itinerary. Shinhwa fits: water itself is a half-day or full-day itinerary. If neither describes your need, set water entitlements to zero and compare room, breakfast, cancellation, and final total.
