The core framework is the SOAK ENTITLEMENT LADDER. The correct order is bath need → exact room bathroom type → paid sauna / hot-spring facility → party size → breakfast → final total. Astar is not a product where every room has a bathtub and the communal sauna is automatically included.
30-second shortlist test
- You only need a clean Jeju City room: start with the normal Deluxe / Standard-type inventory and do not pay for a bathtub you will not use.
- An in-room bathtub is non-negotiable: lock a room SKU that currently states Bathtub explicitly, such as the source's Super Deluxe or Premier-type examples.
- You are considering a Deluxe Family room: the source warns that bathroom allocation can be shower or bathtub rather than guaranteed.
- You want the communal sauna / hot spring: treat it as a separate paid facility, even when a guest discount applies.
- You want a swimming pool: remove Astar. Sauna and hot-spring imagery do not turn it into a guest-pool hotel.
Shower-only, guaranteed tub and random allocation are three different products
The cheapest room is only useful if its bathroom contract meets your actual need. For a traveler who only showers, a guaranteed tub can be wasted premium. For a family bathing a young child, a random bathroom allocation can create real regret even if the room itself is large enough.
This is why the hotel name cannot substitute for the Room SKU. The booking screen should tell you whether the selected room is shower-only, bathtub-guaranteed or not guaranteed. If it does not, ask or choose a rate that makes the condition explicit.
The sauna is not an in-room bath upgrade
The public sauna / hot-spring facility solves a different problem. It has its own operating hours, maintenance conditions and separate charge structure. If your plan is “I want one private bath before bed,” a paid communal facility is not an equivalent substitute. If your plan is “I specifically want the sauna experience,” then add its real guest price to the accommodation total before comparing another hotel.

Four guests should not price the stay from a two-person room
For families and groups, enter every adult and child first. Then compare only the room products legally returned for that party. A room with the right bed count but the wrong bathroom entitlement is still the wrong product if bathing is a hard requirement.
Do not confuse hot spring with swimming
This is a particularly easy mistake in hotel search results. Astar can have sauna / hot-spring value without offering a guest swimming pool. Travelers who actually want pool time should compare a Jeju City hotel whose current room contract includes a swimming facility rather than trying to stretch the meaning of the amenity label.
Compare exact-property contracts only
Fix the same dates, adult/child ages, exact room SKU, bedding, bathroom type, breakfast and cancellation. If you plan to use the sauna, add the current discounted guest facility cost separately before comparing the final total.
Final decision
Choose Astar when Jeju City location works, the exact room bathroom matches your need and you value the sauna enough to pay for it separately. Do not choose the cheapest Astar rate first and hope the bathtub appears later. The bathroom entitlement is part of the product.
