Grand Josun Jeju vs LOTTE HOTEL JEJU: for a family of four, “family-friendly” is not enough

Both are Jungmun resorts with pools and kids facilities. For two adults and two children, the real question is whether a room that legally fits all four can also deliver the child experience you are paying extra for. Align the room product first, then compare value.

The 2+2 answer first: if the child wants the bedroom itself to feel like the kids experience, Grand Josun is easier to align because Kids Deluxe can currently accommodate 2 adults + 2 children. If the child cares more about pools, kids programs and resort-wide activities, LOTTE remains strong—but families of four need to know that Hello Kitty rooms are currently capped at three guests, so the themed room and four-person occupancy may not exist in the same booking.

30-second decision
  • 2 adults + 2 children, and a themed bedroom is the priority: shortlist Grand Josun Kids Deluxe first; the 2+2 occupancy and kids-room product align.
  • 2+2, but pools and shared facilities matter more: at LOTTE, choose a Premier Garden or another live four-person room, then value He:on and kids activities separately.
  • Only three guests, and Hello Kitty is a trip goal: the three-person cap stops being a problem, making LOTTE much easier to justify.
  • Out all day: downgrade both resort premiums and compare the same occupancy, beds, breakfast, cancellation and final price.
01 · PARTYLock 2+2 first

Without real child ages, a “family room” comparison can still be the wrong product.

02 · ROOMThen legal occupancy

A room only belongs in your price table if all four guests can actually stay in it.

03 · CHILD VALUEWhat does the child want?

A themed room, kids program and pool are different types of family value.

04 · ALIGNMENTCan both coexist?

If four-person occupancy and the child experience must be split, recalculate the premium.

01Both are in Jungmun, so location is not the useful comparison this time

Grand Josun Jeju and LOTTE HOTEL JEJU are both Jungmun resort products, and their current check-in / check-out times are 15:00 / 11:00. Once you have decided to stay in Jungmun, the transaction order should become real party size → four-person room → child experience → shared facilities → normalized final price.

This also keeps the decision distinct from our The Shilla Jeju vs LOTTE HOTEL JEJU comparison, which focuses on shared-use resort value. Here, the narrow question is whether a family of four can buy the room and child experience in the same product.

02The decisive difference: Grand Josun Kids Deluxe can fit 2+2; LOTTE Hello Kitty rooms currently stop at three

Grand Josun's current Kids Deluxe is 46.7㎡ with Family Twin bedding (1 Queen + 1 Single), and the official rules allow up to 2 adults + 2 children when traveling with children. The hotel lists Forest, Under the Sea and Sky themes, assigned randomly at check-in. Trip.com also currently shows a “[Family 2+2] Main Building Deluxe Twin” product, confirming that 2+2 occupancy is not just marketing copy.

LOTTE HOTEL JEJU's current Hello Kitty Kids / Princess / Ladies rooms are 46.9㎡, Family Twin, with a maximum occupancy of three. Premier Room Garden View, by contrast, is listed for 3–4 guests with Family Twin / Double Double configurations. For a family of four, that can mean a split decision: use a standard four-person room for sleeping, and get the family experience from public resort facilities.

03There are two kinds of “the kids will love it”: room-level and resort-level value

Grand Josun's Kids Deluxe puts family value directly into the room product. Alongside the themed room, the hotel currently lists Josun Junior welcome items, kids amenities and related Gran Joy paid kids-program benefits. Josun Junior Kids Club currently operates 10:00–18:00, with some program windows limiting general Kids Club use.

LOTTE does not need a Hello Kitty room for its family proposition to work. Its 2026 activities page currently lists ACE Kids, ACE Family, Kids Lab, Kids World and Champion R among the family and kids offerings, while He:on remains a guest facility. For 2+2 families, giving up the themed room because of occupancy does not erase the resort-level family value.

Grand Josun: room-level alignment

If the child's highlight is returning to a bedroom that still feels like part of the experience, Kids Deluxe lets the themed room and 2+2 occupancy stack together. The premium is mainly for the in-room theme and kids content.

LOTTE: resort-level alignment

If the child mostly wants pools, kids activities and shared spaces, a family of four can use an eligible four-person room and move the family value outside the bedroom. You lose the character room, not the whole family resort.

04Both have strong pools, but families of four should compare usable time—not photo size

Grand Josun's current rules list pools, sauna and Kids Club access from 12:00 on check-in day until before 15:00 on check-out day. Josun Junior Kids Club currently runs 10:00–18:00. That pre-check-in / post-checkout window has real value if you arrive in Jungmun around noon or have a later onward transfer.

LOTTE's He:on makes evening use clearer: current official hours are 09:00–23:00 from May–October and 09:30–22:00 from November–April, with Family Pool / Kids Pool products for families. The useful question is whether your family will actually return for swimming around dinner—not which infinity-pool photo looks better.

Do not compare the two hotels by simply counting kids facilities.

The expensive mistake is paying for a themed room your family cannot occupy, or paying a resort premium for pools and programs while spending every day outside. First verify that the product works for all four travelers, then count the facilities you will actually use.

05Normalize the 2+2 rate before comparing prices

Only now should you open the OTAs. At Grand Josun, separate a standard Deluxe with 2 Queens from Kids Deluxe. At LOTTE, separate rooms clearly accepting four guests from Hello Kitty rooms capped at three. If one platform is showing a different occupancy, bed setup or included benefit, its lowest displayed rate is not a valid comparison.

Grand Josun Jeju | A four-person room and kids room can align in one hotel

Enter 2 adults + 2 children with real ages, then lock either a standard Deluxe 2 Queens or Kids Deluxe. For Kids Deluxe, also verify random theme, kids inclusions, breakfast and cancellation.

LOTTE HOTEL JEJU | Lock a legal four-person room before deciding on theme

For 2+2, start with Premier Garden or another room explicitly accepting four guests. Do not treat a three-person Hello Kitty room as a four-person option. Then add He:on, kids activities, breakfast and cancellation back into the value.

These are named-property links, not claims that any platform is always cheapest. Inventory, child definitions, breakfast, kids programs, packages, cancellation and tax can change; verify the selected rate details before paying.

07Bottom line: “sleep in the theme” and “have things to do all day” are different family needs

2+2 + the themed bedroom is the point: Grand Josun Jeju more easily keeps four-person occupancy and Kids Deluxe in one product. Compare the Kids Deluxe premium with a standard Deluxe. 2+2 + shared family facilities are the point: LOTTE HOTEL JEJU does not need Hello Kitty to justify itself; if you accept another eligible four-person room, He:on and the family activities still work. Three guests + Hello Kitty is a trip goal: LOTTE's themed room becomes a much cleaner choice.

If you would barely use either hotel's family facilities, do not let the phrase “family resort” decide the booking. Return to the final price after matching occupancy, beds, breakfast and cancellation.

60-second 2+2 family checklist
  1. Enter 2 adults + 2 children with real ages on both platforms.
  2. Grand Josun: confirm standard Deluxe 2 Queens vs Kids Deluxe; do not rely only on a “Family 2+2” label.
  3. LOTTE: confirm the room explicitly accepts four; current Hello Kitty rooms are capped at three.
  4. Split themed room, kids program, He:on and Kids Club into “will use” vs “probably will not use.”
  5. Align breakfast headcount, beds, view, extra-person fees, cancellation and tax.
  6. Only then compare final price; renormalize whenever inclusions differ.
