Fastest way to choose: picture your most tiring evening. If you are carrying shopping bags and want the day to stay easy even in rain, Lotte's connections are more useful. If part of the group wants to return to the room while someone else stays out around City Hall or Myeongdong, Westin's position may work better.
Replace “convenient” with a list of things you will actually do
Check four behaviors: will you spend serious time in a department store or duty-free shopping; might your group split up; do you have an afternoon window when someone may return to the hotel; and would you still want dinner and shopping to run smoothly in bad weather? Lotte has the clearest advantage in the first and fourth. Westin tends to earn its value in the second and third.
If none of those behaviors appears in your itinerary, both hotels may be more hotel than this trip needs. A famous central address cannot compensate for spending most nights in another part of Seoul.
Arrival day and departure day can reverse the winner
A late arrival does not become effortless simply because the hotel is in central Seoul. Check the airport drop-off point, final walk with luggage, whether you can store bags, and where the first stop of the next morning actually is. Do not choose either property until the airport leg and the final walk make sense for your flight time and luggage.
A room-rate difference is not automatically a quality difference
Booking platforms often mix breakfast, prepaid rates, free cancellation, executive benefits, different beds and different towers or room categories in the same results. Before comparing totals, line up the exact room, occupancy, breakfast, taxes, cancellation deadline and payment timing.
Lotte deserves extra attention because Main Tower and Executive Tower inventory should not be treated as one interchangeable product. Westin also needs exact room and club-benefit checks. If your itinerary is still moving, a refundable rate can be worth more than a small headline discount because it preserves the option to change the base later.

Choose Lotte when indoor continuity protects the day
Lotte Hotel Seoul is easiest to justify when shopping and accommodation form one continuous part of the itinerary. Rain, two rounds of shopping, the need to drop duty-free purchases, or a travel companion who wants to stop walking are not small conveniences if they recur. They are exactly the situations where the hotel connection becomes useful.

Choose Westin when the hotel is a real reset point in the middle of Seoul
Westin becomes more persuasive when the day naturally passes through City Hall, Myeongdong and Namdaemun and at least one person may genuinely return to the room. The address works as a reset point rather than as a promise that every attraction is close.

If both still look equally good, test the neighborhood before the hotel
