The accommodation question for BIC 2026 does not begin with Seomyeon versus Haeundae. First confirm which day you can enter, when you leave the venue, and whether you will stay for the awards on the 16th. The official schedule divides the three days by eligibility and hours; only after those times sit alongside your hotel and luggage plan is there a real next comparison to make.
First see which time slots will bring you back to BEXCO
- Eligibility and dates: The 14th is business day; public-entry days are the 15th and 16th. Confirm which day your ticket allows.
- Closing: Exhibition days run until 17:00; on the 16th there is also closing and awards from 17:00. Do not lock in the next leg using an imagined finish time.
- Continuity: For one visit, the venue is a complete day out; if you enter on both the 15th and 16th, an east-side hotel starts to have repeat-use value.
- The final stretch: BEXCO Exhibition Center 1 is reached from Centum City Station Exit 1; still verify the hotel address, luggage storage and the last stretch individually.

First confirm whether you are a business attendee on the 14th or a public visitor on the 15th–16th
The official BIC event page lists the 2026 in-person event for 14–16 August in Hall 2, Exhibition Center 1, BEXCO. The 14th is a 09:00–17:00 business day and conference; festival days for general visitors are the 15th and 16th, with exhibition hours of 10:00–17:00. It also states that the 14th is for business-pass holders only, so do not treat all three days as the same general-admission ticket.
That directly changes the first night. Anyone who needs to reach the venue before 09:00 on the 14th cannot wait until arriving in Busan to work out the route from the hotel; someone entering only on the 15th can leave the 14th for arrival, dinner and putting luggage away. This is not about one hotel district being better than another; it is about writing the fixed opening time into the calendar first. Ticket type, conference eligibility and final hours remain subject to the official page before departure.
Find Hall 2 first, then confirm the final approach
BIC’s official page gives the address as 55 APEC-ro, Haeundae-gu, Busan, Hall 2 of Exhibition Center 1. Busan City’s BEXCO information says to take Metro Line 2 to Centum City Station and leave via Exit 1 for Exhibition Center 1. These are verifiable venue-entry details; a hotel-search label such as “Haeundae” or “Centum” cannot replace the actual address.
A Busan City notice on taxi boarding points from February 2026 also lists “Centum City Metro Station Exit 1 (BEXCO exit)” as a designated point. If you carry a laptop, exhibitor gifts or large luggage, put your hotel entrance, Centum City Station Exit 1 and that taxi point onto the map together before booking. This answers a practical question after the event: do you return directly to the hotel, go back to drop things off, or still transfer somewhere for dinner?
17:00 on the 15th and 16th does not necessarily mean you have a full evening immediately
The official exhibition hours for the 15th and 16th end at 17:00. The 16th also lists closing and awards from 17:00, so if you want to stay, do not make a 17:30 dinner, hotel check-in or another fixed activity impossible to delay. This is an itinerary buffer derived directly from the official hours, not a prediction of how long the awards will last.
Visitors attending only on the 15th or 16th can treat the event as one fixed 10:00–17:00 block; people entering both days will repeatedly face the question of which side to spend the evening on. Only then is there enough information to decide whether the event-week hotel should be on the east side. If the event takes just one day and other days are in the old city or west side, accommodation must still serve the entire trip—do not let one venue address decide every night.
Use two questions to decide whether the event warrants changing your base
First, how many other mornings and evenings besides BIC are on the east side? Second, after the event do you need to return to the room to drop things off, rest or look after companions? When both answers recur, east-side accommodation deserves a place on the shortlist; when they occur once, keeping the original base and treating the venue day as a complete outing is often simpler. Only after narrowing the candidate areas should you open Haeundae hotels or Seomyeon hotels to check the real address, room type and cancellation terms. Event-week inventory and prices change: whether a room is cancellable, whether breakfast suits an early start, and the final leg to Centum City Station Exit 1 must all be reconfirmed on the day you book. Do not blend check-in and departure days with the venue day
If you arrive only on the 14th, first check whether the flight, luggage and check-in can support the next day; if you leave directly after the event on the 16th, work backward from checkout, luggage storage and airport time. BIC’s official page cannot answer these parts for you: check them against your own flight and hotel address. Use Gimhae Airport to central Busan for the arrival day, then return to the venue day; anyone leaving only after the 16th event can also use where to stay on the final night before an early flight to work backward from checkout and luggage time.
This guide applies only to BIC 2026. After the event, do not treat these dates as evergreen information; the next edition’s dates, venue, tickets, hours and entry eligibility all need a new evidence matrix from official sources.
Online and in-person festival periods are not interchangeable
BIC’s official page lists online and in-person festivals separately: the online festival runs from 7–29 August, while the in-person event is 14–16 August. If you only want the online game experience, accommodation and the BEXCO venue have no direct relationship; only a visit to Hall 2 of Exhibition Center 1 needs planning around those three in-person days. The distinction looks basic, but it avoids misreading “the event runs all month” as being able to enter BEXCO in late August.
Open the ticket page again before departure to confirm entry type. The official ticket notes separate general visitors and business attendees, and explicitly warn that main programmes may change venue visiting hours. Do not book a non-refundable room just from dates on a calendar: first confirm which day your ticket admits you, and how late you need to remain onsite, then select check-in and departure days.
Three BIC calendars create different accommodation problems
Attending one day only, the 15th or 16th: Choose a base with the original Busan itinerary; BEXCO is one fixed complete day. Since the exhibition starts at 10:00, leave enough time from the hotel to Centum City Station Exit 1 and the venue entrance; after 17:00 decide whether you still need to stay on the east side. A single exhibition day does not require a forced hotel move.
Attending both the 15th and 16th: Two mornings heading to the same venue and two evenings leaving the same side finally create accommodation conditions worth comparing. You can include an east-side hotel among candidates and write down the route from the room address to Centum City Station Exit 1. It still needs comparison with the rest of the trip; if every non-BIC day is on the west side, a fixed Seomyeon base may still make the entire itinerary smoother.
Leaving after the 16th awards: The official page states only that awards begin at 17:00; it does not give a fixed closing time. Do not reserve an inflexible distant activity that evening or schedule an airport/intercity train from an imagined finish. Keep dinner, return to the hotel and next-day transport adjustable while the information is incomplete.
Between a venue day and a hotel day, there is one thing to confirm first
Confirm whether the hotel can store luggage. Neither BIC nor Busan City information guarantees this service; you must check the hotel’s current policy or ask the hotel directly. If you arrive on the 14th and enter early on the 15th, or check out on the 16th but stay for closing, luggage handling determines whether you need another night. If you cannot find a clear policy, leave luggage as unconfirmed rather than assuming every hotel offers the same arrangement.
Likewise, real walking minutes from hotel to venue, taxi waits and metro crowding vary with date and time. This page provides only verified venue, exit and taxi-point information; on the day, use live maps and transit-operator information to check the final stretch. That boundary is more reliable than giving a precise-looking time that cannot be guaranteed.
