- 1–2 adults using the hotel as an East Jeju base: Playce is usually the cleaner product. Its Standard starts around 9.7㎡ and Deluxe around 19.4㎡; you are buying a compact base rather than a resort residence.
- Summer stay and Phoenix heated pool is the reason: some 2026 Playce official packages explicitly include Phoenix Island heated-pool access for up to two guests. That right belongs to the package, not to every OTA Room Only rate.
- Family of four wanting living space and resort facilities: Phoenix Royal is much closer to the complete product, with a large multi-room layout and a more direct resort-entitlement structure.
- You are assuming the shared shuttle means shared facilities: stop there. Transport service and accommodation entitlement are separate contracts.
Use four checks before assigning value to a cross-property benefit
Property: where are you actually sleeping? Rate: what exact room/package did you buy? Transfer: does the wording explicitly name the other property's pool or facility? Headcount/time: how many people and which session are covered?
If any layer is missing, set the cross-property benefit to zero in the price comparison.
Pool value is more than a yes/no field
A benefit that technically exists but covers only two of four guests, or a session that clashes with your itinerary, has less value than the marketing label suggests. Use Entitlement × Headcount Coverage × Time Fit, not “hotel has pool.”
Normalize the exact hotel contracts
Fix the same stay dates, all guest ages, exact room name, breakfast, cancellation and taxes. For Playce, separately verify whether the selected rate includes Phoenix pool access. For Phoenix, match Royal/Royal Suite, view/building, resident pool coverage and any session rules.

Verdict
Choose Playce when you want a compact East Jeju base and will not overpay for unverified resort rights. Choose Phoenix Island when shared living space and resident resort facilities are part of the stay itself. A Playce package can occasionally bridge that gap, but only when the benefit is written into the exact product you buy.
