Start here: if you are two travelers aged 19+ and like to swim, leave for dinner, then come back later, The Shilla Jeju usually gives you the easier rhythm. If the 110m Estuary Infinity Pool is one of the main reasons for the stay and you are happy to reserve a full afternoon or evening block for it, Parnas Hotel Jeju has the clearer proposition. Families need a different calculation: Shilla's Adult Pool is not shared family value, while Parnas requires you to check family-room occupancy and the summer session schedule first.
- Two adults aged 19+ who want a flexible dinner or walk: shortlist The Shilla first. Its Adult Pool is currently 09:00–23:00 and restricted to guests aged 19+.
- The pool is the day's main activity: Parnas can be more compelling. The 110m Estuary Pool is the headline, but from 1 July to 31 August the afternoon is split into reserved sessions and re-entry is not allowed after leaving the selected session.
- Family of three: do not compare only the most photogenic pool. Parnas currently lists Deluxe Family and Premier Family with Single + Double beds for three guests; at Shilla, compare Family Pool, Indoor Pool, kids facilities and the room actually available for your party.
- You leave at 08:00 and return at 22:00: discount the resort premium at both hotels. Equivalent room, breakfast, cancellation and final price matter more than facilities you will not use.
Afternoon use is split into 11:30–16:30 and 17:00–22:00 sessions. Guests reserve after check-in via the hotel guide QR code, and cannot re-enter once they leave the selected session.
The current official schedule is 09:00–23:00, but access is restricted to guests aged 19+. Two adults and a family with children are buying different usable value.
Parnas has an Indoor Kids Pool; Shilla has Family Pool and Indoor Pool. What everyone can use together matters more than the hero image.
If your resort time is close to zero, extensive pool access does not create trip value. Reprice the stay without the facility premium in your head.
Checking in at 15:00 creates an extra decision at Parnas in July and August
Parnas Hotel Jeju currently divides afternoon use of the Estuary Indoor and Outdoor Pool into two sessions from 1 July through 31 August: 11:30–16:30 and 17:00–22:00. Morning use is unrestricted by those sessions. Afternoon access requires a reservation through the hotel-guide QR code received at check-in, and once you leave the pool area during the selected session you cannot re-enter.
That turns a normal 15:00 check-in into a planning decision. If you finish check-in at 15:20, the first session has little time left. If you choose the second, dinner now has to fit around a 17:00–22:00 pool block. Parnas is not worse because of this; in peak summer it simply works better when you treat the pool as a scheduled part of the itinerary instead of a background facility you dip in and out of.

The Shilla's main restriction is not the clock — it is whether everyone in your group is 19+
The Shilla Jeju currently lists its Adult Pool from 09:00 to 23:00 and limits access to guests aged 19+. Its Indoor Pool is currently 07:00–23:00. That means two adults should value the resort differently from a family: adults can count the Adult Pool as genuine shared-use space, while families should shift the comparison toward Family Pool, Indoor Pool and kids facilities.
A beautiful adults-only pool should not be multiplied across a family room if a child cannot use it. For two 30-year-old travelers, however, the separation from the family zone may be exactly why the premium feels worthwhile.
| Decision | Parnas Hotel Jeju | The Shilla Jeju | What it means |
|---|---|---|---|
| 15:00 check-in in July-August | Afternoon sessions require a reservation; no re-entry after leaving the selected session | Adult Pool is currently 09:00–23:00; guests must be 19+ | Want to weave the pool around other plans: Shilla is easier for eligible adults. Happy to reserve a long pool block: Parnas works well. |
| Two guests aged 19+ | 110m Estuary Pool is the core draw; peak-season planning matters | Both guests can use the Adult Pool and the adults-only zone becomes shared value | Choose between the pool itself and a more flexible adults-only rhythm. |
| Traveling with young children | Indoor Kids Pool available; check room occupancy first | Adult Pool is not family value; compare Family Pool, Indoor Pool and kids facilities | Neither resort should win on its hero pool alone. |
| Family room for three | Deluxe Family 46㎡ and Premier Family 56㎡ are currently listed with Single + Double beds for three guests | Available family room types vary by date and package; search with the real party size | Parnas currently gives a clearer published three-person family-room specification. |
| Four or more guests | Do not assume “Family” means four; the two room types above are currently capped at three | Enter all adults, children and ages before judging available room types | Pass the occupancy gate before comparing pools. |
| Out sightseeing all day | Little chance to use the 110m pool | Little chance to use Adult or Family Pool | Downgrade both resort premiums and compare the actual room and final price. |
Families make two common mistakes: treating “Adult Pool” and “Family Room” as all-group answers
Parnas currently lists Deluxe Family at 46㎡ and Premier Family at 56㎡, both with Single + Double beds and occupancy for three guests. That is an important occupancy gate: a four-person family should not assume a room works just because “Family” appears in the name.
At The Shilla, the mistake runs in the opposite direction. The hotel can have a strong Adult Pool without that facility becoming shared family value. Family Pool and Indoor Pool are the more relevant comparison for parents traveling with children. One trap is room name does not equal legal occupancy; the other is a hotel facility does not equal a facility your whole group can use.

If both travelers are 19+ and you dislike being tied to a fixed session, The Shilla has the cleaner pool-use logic. If you are happy to reserve half a day or evening around the 110m Estuary Pool, Parnas makes the pool itself a stronger trip event. With children, remove Shilla's Adult Pool from shared family value and put Parnas room occupancy back into the comparison.
Before opening an OTA, turn both hotels into the same product
Current Trip.com property pages for both hotels list 15:00 check-in and 11:00 check-out. Price comparisons still need the same dates, real guest count, similar room tier, view, breakfast quantity and cancellation terms. A Parnas Ocean View rate with breakfast and a Shilla Mountain View rate without breakfast are not equivalent products just because both appear in the same search results.
- Enter the real adult and child count, including children's ages.
- If your Parnas stay falls from 1 July to 31 August, put the afternoon pool session into the itinerary. Do not apply that seasonal rule outside the stated period.
- If anyone at The Shilla is under 19, do not count the Adult Pool as shared group value.
- Hold room tier, bed setup, view, breakfast and refund terms as constant as possible.
- Then compare the final price. Member rates, taxes and package inclusions should be judged on the checkout screen.
Parnas Hotel Jeju | Best if the pool block is part of the itinerary
If the 110m Estuary Pool is a reason for choosing the hotel, confirm the session rules for your stay date and your party's room occupancy before comparing rates.
The Shilla Jeju | Best if eligible adults value a flexible resort rhythm
If both guests are 19+ and you want to split pool time around dinner or a walk, count how many hours you will really use the adults-only zone before comparing equivalent rates.

Final decision: are you willing to schedule hotel time as a real block?
Choose Parnas: the Estuary 110m Pool is one of the reasons for the trip, and in July-August you are happy to treat an afternoon session as a real itinerary block rather than dipping in and out around dinner.
Choose The Shilla: both travelers are 19+ and you value an adults-only zone with a less session-driven rhythm; or, as a family, you are disciplined enough to judge the hotel on Family Pool, Indoor Pool and kids facilities instead of counting Adult Pool for everyone.
Choose neither on pool alone: you will be out from morning to late evening. Start again from the Jeju planning hub and Jeju stay guides, then decide whether a Jungmun resort premium earns enough hours in your actual itinerary.
